Supposons une portion de yogourt aux fraises. Sur le côté du petit pot, il est indiqué, pour chaque 125g de yogourt, que celui-ci apporte 133 calories, avec 3,1 grammes de gras.
Voici un exemple d'étiquette de yogourt (par portion de 125g) :
Énergie 133 Cal
Protéines 4,9 g
Matières grasses 3,1 g
Glucides 21g
Règle : Chaque gramme de gras apporte en moyenne 9 Cal. par portion
Calcul : Le gras dans cette portion apporte 3,1 X 9 = 27 Cal.
Calcul : Le gras dans cette recette est donc de 27 / 133 = 20 %
Conclusion : Cet aliment est faible en gras.
À l'épicerie, voici quelques trucs pour aider quand à savoir si un aliment est riche ou faible en gras :
Ne jamais se fier aux réclames des étiquettes. En effet, certaines parties de l'étiquetage sont réglementées, d'autres pas. Seule la partie sur les informations nutritionnelles peut être consultée avec confiance.
Faire attention aux étiquettes "faible en gras", "peu de gras", "moins de gras que", "seulement 2,5% de gras", etc. Calculez vous même la teneur en gras des aliments et tirez vos propres conclusions.
Pour savoir si un aliment est riche ou faible en gras, faites les deux calculs mentaux suivants :
Divisez le nombre total de calories par trois ET
Multipliez le nombre de grammes de gras par 10
Si le dernier chiffre est plus grand que le second, il y a de fortes chance que cet aliment soit gras.
